This project is collaboration between Danish National Centre for Social Research (SFI) and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) and an international network activity supported by the Danish Agency for research and innovation. The topic of the activity is the digitalization of the society and, in particularly, of welfare services in an ageing society. Denmark is among the first countries to have implemented a comprehensive e-government system. Further development of other digitalized welfare and health services is likely. Korea is one of the leading countries in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and its population has high use of different digital products and solutions. Both countries face a major demographic change as the populations are ageing. The scientific focus of the activities is on technology adaptation and digital divide in later life, with particular emphasis on cohort differences and the context of technology usage. To build a foundation for a future collaborative research project, this proposed network activity will establish research network and compare the cultural and socio-political contexts of ICT and digital service use in later life in Denmark and Korea.
